Family supper at home, an unusual occurrence these crazy days!
Month: September 2013
Yorkshire Puds
I whipped up some Yorkshire puddings for a jolly family ensemble yesterday.
Stone Henge
My travelling companion was more interested in a rather nice red purse than the ancient historical relic we passed on our journey yesterday…
Healthy
Fish with coconut milk, lime and coriander to give those cancer cells something to think about!
Ode to Mushy Peas
I’ve been so busy I’ve barely had time to eat any scones, let alone blog about them! But I did have some wonderful fish and chips, another one of my absolute favourite things…
Spaghetti Issues
Tried to measure the spaghetti by eye. There wasn’t enough… Now hoping no one will notice my frantic and surreptitious addition of some extra spaghetti.
Thankful
I am thankful for many things. Today, a cheerful bacon-roll joint that served me tea and shelter from the pouring rain.
Bath Scones
As opposed to Bath Buns. Did not disappoint.
Winter is Looming
Last winter was awful: freezing, long and depressing. This year I’m determined to be positive, so here’s one thing I truly love about this time of year – AGAs.
Family Supper
It’s easy to forget how important family is, and how wonderful it can be.
Plum Crumble
There aren’t many profound things to say about this plum crumble. It tasted better than the one when I forgot to put butter in the topping. We actually have a chicken named Crumble, but there aren’t many profound things to say about her either.
Seaside Jollity
Beaucoup de mushy peas for dinner, followed by some avid games of Bananagrams. Cue contented sigh.
Scones by the Sea
Windswept but grateful for some sea air, we had morning tea in the cheery and wonderfully British seaside town of Sutton-on-Sea.
Waiting
You don’t rush cancer. It rushes you.
Coffee Cake
Similar to scones, cake is an effective cure for gloominess. Especially when you bake it yourself… And lick the bowl.
