a brownie abundance

Last weekend I made 300 brownies for my aunt and uncle’s 70th birthday and 40th wedding anniversary celebration weekend. There was dining, drinking, dancing… and general jollity all round. They are two of the most selfless and remarkable people I know, and it was an honour to be part of their festivities.

I’m getting quite good at leaving for months and coming home again – a recurring  feature since I went to summercamp for the first time, all those years ago. Transitions are, nonetheless, bizarre. It always takes a bit of adjusting and one of my most effective methods of easing my way back into domestic life is baking. Voilà!
