Isn’t it a beautiful day to be gazing out of the college library window? I’m going to miss this sight, but it’s been here serving students for decades and I don’t think it’s going anywhere soon…

Break
So I’ve decided to take a break from Oxford to be able to spend more time at home. This week’s been a bit dominated by a fairly hefty decision but now it’s done I feel totally relieved. Leaving Oxford behind for a bit is going to be weird, but on the major bright side I get to spend a whole extra year in my favourite place in the WORLD and also much more time in the kitchen

tibits
The Oxford Student was asked to review ‘tibits’ – a fabulous vegetarian restaurant in the Regent St. food quarter – so I took my cousin Emily along for some foodie support. We had a great catch up, revelling in the fantastic food and the positive rainbow of varieties that ended up on our plates… You can read my review here: http://www.oxfordstudent.com/2015/01/07/review-titbits-excellent-vegetarian-buffet/
If you’re in London in the near future, I urge you to check it out! In the meantime, here are some experimental bread rolls.

Writing for the Oxford Student has so far been such fun! Last week I was asked to review ‘tibits‘, in the Regent St. food quarter, so I took my cousin – who is an admirably serious foodie – for some moral support. We had a fabulous time: a great catchup and amazing food, making it a truly memorable occasion! Review coming soon…
new year fun
one of my New Year’s resolutions is to either blog or Instagram (@a_scone_atatime) once a day. This will undoubtedly be a challenge in term time when I am in the depths of student eating, which is hardly inspiring or aesthetically pleasing. Yesterday, though, I had entirely forgotten that everywhere would be shut on New Year’s Day and back in my student house was forced to embrace a diet of crumpets and Bendick’s bittermints. Despite the seemingly unappealing nature of this development, I discovered both that crumpets are actually very photogenic, and also that I am quite content to survive on them indefinitely.
