the bestest bae came to stay. we ate a tonne of cake and watched the episode of Gilmore Girls when Rory goes to Yale, deep in the same hysterics as when we used to watch after school when we were 11

the opposite of loneliness
I’ve been missing my mum an awful awful lot recently. It’s been a pretty quiet term, and in that quietness her absence has come to feel very tangible. Last week I wrote a list of things I would do when I felt a bit wobbly and so this morning, while all my friends started their exams, I sat with a bagel (ok not a new phenomenon) and wrote postcards to all those people I’d be meaning to write to for yonks and yonks. In the early hours this morning, I also reread one of the most remarkable and wonderful books I’ve ever come across – ‘The Opposite of Loneliness’ by Marina Keegan – and it got me thinking, as it always does, about reasons to carpe diem! I can’t urge you enough to read it. Now I’m off to have a sunny walk in the Botanical Gardens, and then I’m gonna smash this essay. Happy Wednesday, everyone, stay positive!
